Dry Break Couplers
B.G. Industrial's dry break couplers are the only quick release ink connectors utilized in the newspaper industry that have virtually no ink drip after the fittings are disconnected. These quick release connectors are used in a variety of applications where interchangeability of different inks and colors are required on a regular basis. Listed are the unique features of this easy to use connector.

Features and Benefits:
Durability - High quality manufacturing of these fitting makes it last longer than comparable connectors.

Easy On/Off Connection - The spring loaded locking collar located on the female coupler gives this fitting a snap connection and release characteristic that is unique to this coupler. This feature eliminates the need to use tools, pinch bars or hammers to tap fittings that could be difficult to connect or separate. It also eliminates potential damage to the fittings.

Less Ink Drip - There is virtually no ink present on the connection faces of both fittings after they have been disconnected. The flat surfaces of the connection are easy to wipe with a rag. This characteristic reduces overall ink waste and in-house cleaning.

Easy Conversion - B.G. Industrial's dry break couplers are easy to retrofit to existing press equipment and press equipment accessories.

Less Down Time / Clean Up - The cleanliness of the B.G. dry break couplers minimizes the amount of in-house cleanup that would normally be required with the older quick release connectors. Less clean-up also speeds-up servicing of equipment during maintenance and repair periods.

BGI-2002 Low Level Alarm Sensors
Tote Monitoring Made Easy
B.G. Industrial, Inc. manufactures a versatile Low-Level Alarm Sensor panel that monitors the levels of ink tote-bins. Up to four tote bins can be monitored from one low-level panel simultaneously. Remote sensors are clipped directly onto the sight glass (the vertical indicator on the side of the tote) to detect when the metal indicator weight is in close proximity. The sensors are clipped to the exact (desired) location where the operator wants the low-level condition to be identified. The sensor sends a signal via a control wire to the low-level panel where a strobe light and horn are activated. Each low-level panel has a status display to identify which tote bin or bins are low. The panels also have reset and acknowledge buttons. This level indication system minimizes the risk of running an ink pump dry causing damage to the pump and also limits the possibility of air pockets getting into an the ink system that can cause problems elsewhere.
Features:
Gives you the ability to read the level of multiple tote bins from one location.

Low level alarm monitoring for up to 4 individual totes.

Sensors are set to the desired low level position by placing (clipping) the sensing probe directly on the sight glass.

Probes can easily be disconnected and removed from the tote to allow for quick replacement of tote.

Easy to operate and inexpensive to install.

Test Gauge Kit
Rapid On-Site Testing
Consistent print quality demands that the ink supply pressure be properly set and controlled. B.G. Industrial's BGC-126 Test Gauge Kit allows you to spot test your ink pressure without shutting down the ink system-or creating a leak. The unit uses our quality gauges with a probe similar to that used to inflate a basketball, thus making it very easy for you to check ink pressure under static or flow conditions. This is another example of B.G. Industrial's commitment to helping the newspaper industry by simplifying procedures and providing high quality components to its customers. Kit
Application:
Specifically designed for use on vertical tower configurations that utilize low-pressure ink systems (page packs) B.G. Industrial's Test Gauge Kit is a quick and easy to use instrument that verifies ink line pressure at the pack hose connection point. These strategically located test points enable press maintenance crews to monitor, adjust and balance any fluctuations of ink pressure, vertically up a 4-High press tower.

Referring to the picture and diagram below, the test point is a tee fitting located adjacent to the pack hose connection. On the topside of the tee is a specialized plug with a removable cap. Inside the plug there is a rubber seal that is actually a piece of tightly packed rubber that is split down the middle. A probe supplied with the test kit is screwed on the end of the test gauge. A small amount of silicone lubricant or Vaseline is applied to the end of the probe and the probe is inserted into the plug containing the rubber seal. The probe passes through the split seal to the pressurized side of the seal. Once a reading is taken the probe should be withdrawn from the plug. The seal closes as the probe is extracted from the seal. Replacing the plug cap after use is recommended. The probe should be wiped clean of any ink residue with a clean piece of cloth. The test gauge is now ready for use at another page pack location.
